Secret Beach Bed and Breakfast was built specifically
to be your romantic Gibsons BC getaway accommodation on
the Sunshine Coast. Your hosts, Peter and Kathleen, have
created a home whose design and construction contribute
to your peaceful retreat.
The B&B's architecture is a fusion of styles - modern
amenities are blended with Southeast Asian charm and west
coast style. Rough cedar shakes form the exterior of the
home, while the inside is decorated with oak, Brazilian
cherry, pine and cedar with soaring 9-12 foot solid wood
ceilings.
The interior accommodation, more intimate than a hotel,
includes a cozy
library and lounge,
both with windows encompassing the spectacular ocean view
- the perfect place to enjoy a good book or chat with your
fellow guests.
The bed & breakfast suites are located in the home's
east wing, separated from the central portion of the house
by the east stairwell. The centre includes the lounge and
library, while the west wing contains the family's living
space and the breakfast room warmed by a cozy fireplace.
The extensive grounds are landscaped to provide different
areas of delight. Deer wander through the grounds with great
regularity including does and their fawns in the spring.
There is a formal pampus grass garden; two tropical gardens
containing palm and banana trees, black calla lilies and
tropical grasses; a serene Buddha garden with an outdoor
firepit; and a shaded gazebo for quiet contemplation. There
are also extensive lawns for croquet or badminton. Or take
a chair off to a quiet corner of the grounds to listen to
the birds.
Pilliated woodpeckers, bald eagles, hummingbirds, cormorants,
and herons are frequent visitors to the property.
A romantic hot
tub for 2 is tucked under cover to be enjoyed by you
rain or shine. Or relax on the deck and watch the cruise
ships glide by.
